Dear BCA Families, This week in Chapel, Mr. Cope spoke about Christ’s statement, “I am the true vine”. He spoke of how Christ used common comparisons to things people would understand in His time period.  Mr. Cope said that today, Christ might have used cell phones to represent us and compared himself to the electric power that lets cell phones work. Without power, a cell phone cannot do anything, but with power it can do amazing things. The Bible tells us that with Christ, we can do great things for God, but without His help, we are powerless. Just [...]

Dear BCA Families, At Monday’s Chapel we continued with the theme of the “I am” statements of Jesus. This week I spoke to students about “I am the vine” based on John 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing”. In this verse the “I” represents Jesus and the branches are those who are followers of Jesus, us. The fruitful branches are those believers who by their living and close relationship with Jesus produce much fruit. [...]

Dear BCA Families, We began the week with our Chapel focusing on Easter. Thanks to Mr. Cope, Miss Jaclyn and Mrs. Bruinsma who led us in worship with the wonderful songs, “Because He Lives”, “This is Amazing Love” and “O Praise the Name”.  Mrs. Makonnen spoke to us about the significance of the resurrection. She used the story of Lazarus to illustrate that when we believe in Jesus we are raised up in new life having been set free from the spiritual death brought by our sins. Students and staff wore white to symbolize this new life. Jesus said [...]

Dear BCA Families, We had a great start to the week with our Chapel time on Monday. Mrs. Shantz spoke to us about Easter and students came prepared with their paper crosses. On one side students wrote down something that they asked God’s forgiveness for and as a class went up to the front where there was a big wooden cross, representing the cross Jesus died on to save us from our sins. They placed their paper crosses at the foot of the cross, symbolizing that Jesus forgives our sins. That’s why He died on the cross for us. [...]

Dear BCA Families, Thank you for all those who were able to participate in the Town Hall meeting this past Tuesday evening.  Although it was an emotional evening, the communication was respectful and helpful. It was clear to me that BCA parents love the school.  It was clear that you want change, you want to be involved. You want better communications. It was an important meeting and very helpful as we continue to look to God for direction and prayerfully plan for BCA’s future.  I appreciate the time you took to come out and hear our response to your [...]

Dear BCA Families, We hope you had an enjoyable March Break. We are loving the warmer weather and sunshine, finally! Great Lakes Christian High School Chorus Group This week started off with a visit from Great Lakes Christian High School’s traveling a cappella chorus group. We enjoyed listening to their lovely worship songs and hearing about where each student was from. Great Lakes Christian High School is [...]

Dear BCA Families It has certainly been a dream winter for those who love the wintery weather! The toboggans are getting a lot of use! Hard to believe that March is here and in a few short weeks, March break. In spite of the short week this week there has been a lot going on at the school. On Monday, the grade 6 class put on their chapel presentation. Students had written skits on the topic of the “I am” statements of Christ, with a particular focus on “I am the light of the world” and “I am the bread [...]
