Dear BCA Families

We had a lovely day with the moms on Wednesday for our Muffins for Moms event. Thanks to Tosha and Anna who were on hand to take pictures. Thanks also to the moms who did some baking for this event. The muffins were delicious! Students were so excited to have their moms in the school and visiting their classrooms.

Click here to access the Registration Form

Click here to access the Program Choices Form

Please note that both the Registration Form (completed per family) and the Program Choices Form (completed per student) are required for this year – even for our returning families. In subsequent years, returning families will only be asked to submit a Program Choices Form.

For your reference, for students enrolling in Grades 6-8, the Senior Programs Catalogue is available by clicking here.

For families who will not be returning to BCA in September 2019 (other than our graduates), please complete a Withdrawal Form and return to the office as soon as possible. The Withdrawal Form can be found by clicking here. This will help to expedite the process of transferring your child’s educational documents to your new school and provide helpful feedback for the administrative team.

As per the Fees and Payment Options Form, we remind you that BCA’s Board of Directors sets new rates effective June 1. For any registration packages received and payment plans established after that date, the new rates will apply.

Special Guests

The Grade 3 class enjoyed special guests Scotty and his chick friends. The Kindergarten class was studying animals and got to enjoy the animals as well. The Grade 3s had been reading Charlotte’s Web and made connections to animal life from the story. It was an exciting day for the whole school. Thanks to Mrs. Bruinsma for bringing these animals from her farm in Brantford. (see pictures below)

Comic Book Connections

On Thursday, April 18thin our grade 6 class, we were blessed with the opportunity to host Grade 12 Biology students from King’s Christian Collegiate. Like our own students, they have created animal comic books this year, with stories designed to share in-depth information about each animal’s biome and the human impact on its environment. Our Grade 6 students then read their own comics to the Grade 12 students, sharing what they had learned about their animals as well. Afterwards, we discussed how different animals might interact with each other in the wild and how humans impact all different biomes. There were excellent discussions throughout the room. We are very proud of the hard work done by both groups and their collaboration on this project. (submitted by Mr. Cope).

Burlington Rotary Awards

Former BCA students Mia and Cassie received a Rotary Club award. Their Principal and teachers nominated the girls from their school and sent their name over to the rotary club. Then bios were written for each student (by the teachers) outlining the students school and community involvement which would exemplify “service above self” as well as their accomplishments and grades. The bios were read at the dinner when the students received their awards. It is great to hear about our graduated students and their successes beyond BCA.

Upcoming Events

Track and Field Day – Tuesday April 30 at MM Robinson High School. Students should wear their BCA gym uniform and bring or wear an outer layer of warm clothes. There will be a snack bar selling water and snacks (rice crispy bars, etc). For those who are volunteering we will have a volunteer snack table with Tim Horton’s coffee and Timbits.
