Dear BCA Families,
This is the last Principal’s Corner of the school year. As the school year is winding down students continue to work hard in their academics finishing up projects and assignments and completing tests. We are proud of the academic achievements of students this year. We rejoice in their spiritual growth as Biblical truths have impacted attitudes and behaviors over the year also.
Grade 1 Chapel
Thank you to the Grade one class for reminding us of the beautiful world God created for us. The students hard work was on display as they presented the story of each day of creation, recited memory verses, sang songs, and displayed their art. Way to go grade one!
EdVenture students have been working hard for the past few weeks designing and building a Mud Run course on school property and today the younger students had a chance to participate in the run. Below are some pictures of our Mud Run students. What an excellent opportunity the EdVenture students had to prepare a course for students, making it a challenging and fun course. Congratulations EdVenture students. The run was a huge success! Thanks to Mr. Cope for organizing this senior program session for students to enjoy!
R&D Wrap Up
We as a staff celebrated our learning earlier this month at our last R&D session. This was our second year of our professional development journey exploring the topic of deeper learning and how our teaching can be more impactful on students. It was a great year and we learned, as teachers become learners we have the opportunity to grow and become even better at what we do.
Next week students will celebrate the end of the school year attending various trips. The Grade 7&8 students leave Monday morning to visit Quebec City for a few days. What a great way for students to end the school year!
On Tuesday the Grade 3&4s will visit Fallsview Waterpark. On Wednesday, the JK&SK classes will visit the Dundas Driving Park, Grade 1& 2 classes will visit the African Lion Safari and Grade 5&6s will visit Wonderland. On behalf of all the staff at Burlington Christian Academy we wish you a blessed summer filled with great adventures. We look forward to seeing you in September.
Used Uniform Sale – June 17-21
In the lobby between 8:15-9:15am AND 2:45-4pm. Bring CASH (preferable) or cheque to “BCA” for purchasing items – cash is easier so we can ‘pay’ the money back to the family who is selling their uniforms.
SK Graduation – Thursday June 20 starting at 2 p.m.
All parents are invited to celebrate with the SKs and their families.
We hope you can join us for our year end assembly on Friday starting at 9 a.m. as we recognize students in Grades 4-7 in the following areas:
• Most Improved Student
• Special citizenship award, The Annetta Toews award
• Principal’s Award
All are welcome to attend. If your child is receiving an award you will receive an email from their teacher.
Last Day Noon Dismissal
A reminder that June 21 is a half day ending at noon. There will be no after care provided.
