Dear BCA Families,
It is hard to believe that we are already in to our second month of school! Students have settled in to their routines and are looking forward to the first long weekend of the year, Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for.
Miss Bowler and the Grade 5 class presented an excellent Chapel on Monday about Thanksgiving and reminded us to have an “attitude of gratitude”.
Pictured below is our BCA tree, decorated by students with fall leaves. Students wrote on a leaf what they are thankful for and attached it to the tree. This is a great reminder to us to be thankful.
Cross Country Meet
Friday October 12th for students on the cross country team in Grades 3-8. Please return permission forms by Tuesday October 9th. We need drivers for this event.
Extended Care Staff
We are happy that Miss Aggi has returned for another year as before care teacher. Our after school staff has changed. Meagan Jude will be with us Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
and Fridays. Jennifer McDonald (Cooper’s mom) will be our Tuesday after care teacher. They are both
excited about being part of the BCA family.
First Toonie Casual Day
I am happy to announce that our first Toonie casual day brought in $228.55 plus two pesos! The money will be given to Next Door Social Space. Thank you for supporting this great cause in our local community. At Next Door we seek to be good neighbours, particularly to those living in tough socioeconomic circumstances. Next Door is located right around the corner from BCA. They are a ‘next door’ neighbour to the local Warwick Surrey community offering a ball hockey league at the local pad, gardening at the local community garden. The community is welcoming to all. In 2017 they expanded into the adjoining unit opening Next Door Kitchen – a space for learning healthy cooking and sharing healthy food with one another. Thank you for contributing to this great Christian community organization.

Grade 3 Art

gives plenty of reasons to be thankful!
Tinsel Town Bazaar
Thank you for sending in your donation of items and cash for our first Tinsel Town Casual Day on Wednesday. The volunteers worked hard to put together jars for the very popular jar
room! Students are very excited about this event!
The boys and girls soccer team traveled to Brantford for the annual CAASO Soccer tournament. The teams played very well and although no trophies were won, they represented their school with excellence. Congratulations for a great year of soccer. Thanks to Miss Bowler and Mr. McDonald (Cooper’s dad) for coaching.
Tinsel Town Kids Room
Calling Grades 6-8 BCA Students!
Are you creative, crafty, and looking for the opportunity to sell your handmade items and ideas to
others? I so, here’s your chance to do it!
Join the Tinsel Town Kids’ Market. It’s a place where kids in grade 6-8 can sell their hand-made wares to
other kids (and adults, too ?)
Here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing: decorated greeting cards, Christmas soaps,
science-experiment-in-a-bag, specialty play dough or slime, home-made candies and baking. As you
plan your craft, consider a price guideline of $1-$10 per item.
If you’re interested in being part of the Tinsel Town Kids’ Market, send an email to Sandie Faulkner at
email@example.com, stating your name and merchandise idea. You’ll need to make approximately 10 of
your signature, hand-made creations to sell at the Tinsel Town Bazaar on Saturday, November 10th.
Please note that vending tables are limited, and the cut-off date for reserving a table is Saturday,
November 3rd . (Submitted by Sandie Faulkner)
It is very exciting to know that one of our BCA parents Lisa Kearns is in the running for Burlington’s Ward 2 Councillor. We want to wish her all the best in the election and the days leading up to it. It is an
important year to get out and vote for the future of our beautiful city. Lisa can be found at https://www.lisakearnsward2.com/
